Whale Shark Watching at Oslob, Cebu
One of the fun activities you can
do when visiting Cebu is the Whale Shark Watching at Oslob, Cebu. Whale Shark
are the gentle giants that resides in tropical waters like the Philippines.
Luckily, we have this chance of watching over them here in the Philippines. The
Whale Sharks of Oslob are protected by the Local Government Unit and are
permanently monitored by the Oslob Bantay Dagat. I and my family was able to
visit the place last weekend and good thing the weather was cooperative. When
going to Oslob, you can ride a bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal and should
depart early because Whale Shark Watching is only open until 12:30p.m. I am not
certain how much the fair is because we rented a car going to Oslob. For the local tourists, Whale Shark watching
will cost you P500 and P1000 for foreign tourist. Some rules that needs to be
followed when watching is to avoid touching the whale sharks, maintain 4 meters
distance from them, no applying of sunblock/sunscreen when swimming, no flash
photography and no riding. Here are some of the photos I took during our Whale
Shark Watching experience.

Palm Beach Resort and Spa Mactan Cebu
You see, I really don't have something to do inside our room at the Palm Beach Resort and Spa at Mactan Cebu so I was again playing with my brother's camera. The room we occupied was good for the whole family. It has 3 beds, a fridge, a lavatory, an LCD Television, a hot and cold shower etc. One con that I observed during our stay is that the Wifi signal can't reach the 4th floor. So I'll have to go to the lobby just to surf, good thing I was registered to Globe's Unlisurf999. So here are some of the pictures I took inside the room. It is the night before the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon at Shangri-la Resorts and Spa Mactan Cebu

Ironman 70.3 Triathlon at Shangri-la Cebu
The Ironman 70.3 Triathlon at Shangri-la’s Resort and Spa in Mactan, Cebu City, Philippines has been a very nice experience for me and my Family. My brother joined the competition for the second time around (I don’t know if it was Ironman 70.3 when he joined Triathlon at Subic). This year's Ironman 70.3 was hosted by Shangri-la Resort's and Spa in Mactan, Cebu City and Governor Gwen Garcia mentioned that they will again host another 2 more years of the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon. The Triathlon was composed of 1.3km swimming, 90km cycling and 21km running. Bad news is, there were 2 casualties during that day. One died because of bike accident at the SRP Underpass in Cebu and the other one is because of heat stroke. The heat stroke incident was just told by my brother’s competitor at a bike shop in Cebu. Anyway, enjoy the photos!

Kaang, Cebu's Finest Street Food
Kaang |
While I was walking on the streets of Cebu, I stumbled upon this street food along I don't know street. Its somewhere in Colon anyway. I saw a man eating something on a stick and the other guy on a plastic cellophane. I was really curious about the food they eat so I decided to check it out. I haven't such street food back in Manila and Davao so I think its Cebu's original. They call it "kaang" and this shells are being hauled from Bohol to Cebu. Big sized shell will cost you P15 and then smaller for P10 and those on the sticks are P5/sticks. I tried them all and was satisfied about it. Well, its hard to eat it because it has some sandy part that you will have to remove first before you enjoy this God's gift. Two thumbs up for this one.

Pardo Church
I have not gotten any enough information about this church at Pardo except that it is located in Pardo, Cebu City. This church was built around 1860's if I'm not mistaken. I'm really sorry if I am not able to provide you good details about this church because this picture was actually forgotten in my memory card. I was reminded that I still have this picture when I was browsing my camera early this morning. I forgot almost everything about this church. Anyway, this church has been featured at Leylander's blog post "Southern Exposure". If I'd be given a chance to come back to Cebu, I'll visit this place again and gather some facts about it.
P.S. Sorry for the exposure.
